About

Elm Middle School students in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to play two interscholastic sports during the spring: girls soccer and boys volleyball.

Both programs begin practice in March. Regular-season competition starts in April. The spring season ends in May, with LNAC tournaments in both sports.

How It's Organized

Unlike the fall and winter athletic seasons, the spring season isn't broken into two parts. Instead, the schedules for both spring sports take place over the course of roughly five weeks, with boy's volleyball beginning and ending about a week earlier than girl's soccer.

The Elm boy's volleyball program offers both an 8th-grade varsity team and a 6th/7th-grade JV team. In recent years, the program has scheduled non-conference opponents in addition to LNAC foes.

The Cougar girl's soccer program offers one team, a varsity squad open to students from all three grades. In 2023, the team went undefeated in the regular season en route to winning the LNAC postseason championship. The Cougars finished 10-0 overall and outscored their opponents 51-3.
