National Junior Honor Society holds annual induction ceremony
A new group of Elm Middle eighth grade students will be leading the National Junior Honor Society in the 2024-25 school year. The organization held its induction ceremony for new members in the school’s gym on Friday, May 17.
During the ceremony, veteran volunteers read off the society’s core values and what it means to be a member. A few students from this year’s group spoke about their accomplishments from this past year, giving next year’s group some inspiration for what they can strive for. Current NJHS members will be freshmen at Elmwood Park High School next year.

“It’s great every year to appreciate the kids who are going out and all the great things they did and to celebrate that and also usher in a new group of kids who are going to strive to do the same kind of things,” said NJHS Advisor Christian Hartwig.
The incoming eighth grade NJHS students received their certificates denoting their status as members. Congratulations to those who were honored!
